With the DCIAA soccer playoffs just around the corner, the Girls Varsity soccer team is starting to pick up the intensity. With a 5-0 win against Bell, the girls have one game remaining (Sidwell, on their homecoming, October 18th) before the season comes to a close. What has looked like a very solid year on paper at 10 wins, 4 losses, and a tie, has not quite satisfied the girls. Having lost 8 seniors last year, the team struggled a bit at the beginning of the season, as they adjusted to the new roster. Sophomore Sophie Reveal attested to this, saying, “It took us a couple games to come together as a team but I think we have been playing a lot better.” This is evidenced by the fact that the girls have won 5 of their last 6 games. In previous years, the team has done exceptionally well in the DCIAA playoffs, and despite the loss of many players, the team has added great talent, and remains very optimistic as they head into the postseason.
